Invests in Chalenergy Corporation, a developer of "propeller-less wind turbine generators
(Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Kazuhiro Hasegawa) invested in Chalenergy Corporation (Headquarters: Sumida-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Atsushi Shimizu) on December 18, 2015, which is developing the world's first "vertical axis Magnus wind turbine" for practical application.
The "Vertical Axis Magnus Wind Turbine" developed by Chalenergy is a vertical-axis wind turbine generator that generates electricity by using the magnus force generated by a rotating cylinder to turn a wind turbine, instead of a propeller. By controlling the number of revolutions of the cylinder, the wind turbine can be kept from running out of control, so power can be generated even in strong winds such as typhoons.
Since 2012, Glocalink has been investing in and fostering the development of prototypes and other investments in companies to be fostered under the "TECH PLANTER" seed acceleration program run by its parent company, LEVANES Corporation. Chalenergy, the winning team of the first TECH PLANTER Grand Prix, plans to develop a prototype and conduct a demonstration experiment of "typhoon power generation" in Okinawa with this investment.
GLOCA-LINK will continue to promote efforts to move humanity one step forward by discovering and fostering R&D ventures that are passionately trying to change the world.
