Began verifying ventilation control and HVAC load based on CO2 concentrations at Cynaps and the Center of Garage
GLOCALINK Inc.(Headquarters: Sumida Ward, Tokyo; Representative Director: Yoshinobu Osaka; hereinafter “Glocalink”) has, center of a garage("COG"), a resident company ofCYNAPS Corporation(Headquarters: Sumida Ward, Tokyo; Representative Director: Yusuke Iwaya; hereinafter “cynaps”) and Center of Garage (hereinafter “COG”) are launching a demonstration experiment to automatically control ventilation systems based on CO2 levels and verify the impact of ventilation operations on the power consumption of air conditioning units.

With a vision of using its proprietary technology to accelerate the realization of a society where “IoT is the norm,” cynaps is committed to developing products that allow users to reap the benefits of technology without being overwhelmed by it. The company offers “BA CLOUD,” which reduces the power consumption of air conditioning and ventilation systems by up to 50 percent; “hazaview,” which enables remote monitoring and alerts for indoor air quality using a high-precision NDIR CO₂ sensor; "hazaview," which enables remote monitoring and alerts for indoor air quality using a high-precision NDIR CO₂ sensor, and "LIMZERO," an IoT development support platform that provides everything from communication frameworks to cloud applications. Through the widespread adoption of these products, the company aims to realize a sustainable future.
In facilities such as COG, where the number of people entering and exiting and the number of occupants vary depending on the time of day, operating the ventilation system at fixed intervals may result in ventilation rates that are either excessive or insufficient relative to actual usage conditions. In particular, if the ventilation system runs continuously, bringing outside air into the building during summer and winter increases the load on the air conditioning system, while restricting ventilation too much may cause indoor CO₂ concentrations to rise.
Therefore, in this demonstration, we will develop a system that automatically turns the pressurized ventilation fan for outdoor air intake on the first floor of COG on and off based on the indoor CO₂ concentration. In addition, we will measure the current consumption of various systems, including the air conditioning units, and compare these readings against the operating status of the ventilation system on the same time axis to verify the extent to which ventilation operation affects the air conditioning units’ electricity consumption (through June 30, 2027).
cynaps is responsible for building a sensing and ventilation control system using BACLOUD, as well as for acquiring, visualizing, and analyzing various types of data. Glocalink will provide COG as a demonstration site and will cooperate in setting up and operating the demonstration environment from the perspective of facility management.
Through this demonstration, we will use actual measurement data to clarify the relationship between the operation of ventilation systems and the power consumption of air conditioning units, thereby leading to more efficient facility operations at COG. We also plan to use the results obtained as a basis for decision-making when rolling out these measures to other floors and facilities.
COG will continue to create an environment for the implementation of manufacturing-related technologies and collaboration among companies to create opportunities for technologies to be implemented in society from COG.
