Invested in MELTIN MMI Corporation, which aims to establish cyborg technology using myoelectric analysis technology.
(Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Kazuhiro Hasegawa) announces that it has made an investment in MELTIN MMI Corporation ("MELTIN"), which aims to establish cyborg technology using myoelectric analysis technology.
When humans move their muscles, they transmit electrical signals called myoelectricity. With conventional technology, it has been difficult to read complex patterns such as the strength and weakness of myoelectricity, but MELTIN's unique analysis technology using artificial intelligence makes it possible to obtain information on complex patterns.
By transmitting the myoelectric information obtained by this myoelectric analyzer to machines that require complex operations, such as artificial limbs, MELTIN enables machines to be operated in fine detail in accordance with human intention. In addition, by combining MELTIN's technology with wearable devices, it is possible to operate familiar electronic devices such as PCs and smartphones without touching them. Besides, by simply attaching a myoelectric analyzer to the hand, it will be possible to ascertain health conditions such as mental illness and stress conditions from myoelectric information of the heart.
Glocalink will make an investment in the company, which competed in the first Tech Plan Grand Prix and has provided ongoing commercialization support since then. In response, MELTIN will develop a myoelectric analyzer and, using the myoelectric analyzer, jointly develop and commercialize with manufacturers and others machines and wearable devices that can be operated using myoelectric information.
GLOCA-LINK will continue to promote efforts to move humanity one step forward by discovering and fostering R&D ventures that are passionately trying to change the world.
