Chiyarenergy Corporation Forms Alliance with Nihon Unisys, Ltd.
May 30, 2016 Chiyarenergy Corporation, a developer of vertical axis Magnus wind turbines supported by Glocalink Corporation, announces that Nihon Unisys, Ltd. has developed and commercialized a "next generation wind power generation service".
In addition, Chiyarenergy and Unisys will set up a field test machine in Nanjo City, Okinawa Prefecture, on August 7, and begin joint experiments to demonstrate stable power generation.
The "Vertical Axis Magnus Wind Turbine" developed by Chalenergy is a vertical axis type wind turbine generator that generates electricity by using the magnus force generated by a rotating cylinder to turn a wind turbine instead of a propeller. The control of the rotation speed of the cylinder prevents the wind turbine from running out of control, so power can be generated even in strong winds such as those caused by typhoons.
Since 2012, Glocalink has been investing in and fostering the development of prototypes for companies that are the recipients of TECH PLANTER, a seed acceleration program run by its parent company, LIVERNESS Corporation. GLOCA-LINK will continue to find companies to support through TECH PLANTER, which will be held again this year.
