At COG, we place great importance on providing the next generation with access to startups that are tackling the challenge of bringing research findings to practical application in society, thereby inspiring high school and technical college students to consider technology and manufacturing as potential career paths. For this event, we hosted the visit with the goal of allowing participants to witness, through pitches and Q&A sessions with our resident companies, how entrepreneurs tackle social issues and the process by which technology evolves into a viable business.
On the day of the event, 12 students from the International College of Technology visited COG. Venture companies based at COG—including Otanari Company, Inc., Xiberlinc, Inc., and cynaps, Inc.—gave presentations on their businesses and cutting-edge initiatives. After the pitches, the group split into three smaller groups, and the students engaged in a Q&A session with the resident companies about technology and what it’s like to work at a startup, making it a mutually beneficial experience for everyone.
